History

1971
Kyowa Company Ltd. (the predecessor of Kyototex Co., Ltd.) began its activities. At this time, the company engaged in small-scale operations without a clear goal, selling various metallic threads to various vendors.
1975
From around this period, the company sought sales channels for exports of domestic flat-bed knitting and circular knitting fabrics, smoothly progressing with the expansion of the flat-bed knitting industry.
1980
The company began to focus on international markets, registering the trademark "Kyototex" and expanding sales channels related to knitting. The sales volume increased steadily, primarily in Hong Kong, resulting in enhanced recognition and growth.
1985
During this period, the company also focused on the sale of metallic threads for embroidery, exporting them under the Kyototex trademark to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, establishing itself as a top brand. However, it faced challenges from many similar trademarks.
1993
Both domestic and overseas knitting-related businesses were performing well, and the sales of metallic threads for embroidery expanded. The total production of knitting and embroidery materials grew to a record high of 700 tons. However, this was followed by a downturn in the Japanese economy after the bubble burst.
1995
Due to the declining export competitiveness of Japanese products, the company considered production in China and established Kyototex(Hong Kong)Co., Ltd.
1996
We established a production factory for HAGOROMO and GIMP yarns in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China.
2000
The company celebrated its 30th anniversary, focusing on metallic yarns for knitting and embroidery.
It aimed to rapidly develop unique products in Japan and set goals to spread distinctive metallic yarns worldwide.
2008
The company made its first appearance at the Italian yarn exhibition "PITTI FILATI."
To enhance brand recognition in Europe, it continued to participate in the exhibition to promote its unique metallic yarns worldwide.
2012
The company moved to a new building and changed its name from Kyowa Co., Ltd. to KYOTOTEX.
With the expansion of its warehouse, it further strengthened its immediate shipping system, which had been a strong point.
2014
The representative director was replaced.
2020
To further enhance inventory management and immediate shipping systems, a warehouse was constructed next to the head office, establishing a system to manage most of the inventory from finished products to semi-finished products in-house.
2022
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the company resumed its participation in the Italian exhibition "PITTI FILATI," which had been interrupted.
It also successfully re-exhibited at the "SPIN EXPO" in Shanghai, continuing its promotional activities using presentations that emphasize "inspiration" as of 2024.
