Breaking the Myth:
Silver Is Not Gray

( MASHIRO )

MASHIRO is a new type of metallic yarn with a clear, pure white brilliance,
clearly different from conventional metallic yarns.

When ordinary silver metallic yarn is seen as a “color,”
it is actually close to gray.

What happens when this gray yarn is knitted together with white yarn?

The original whiteness of the white yarn
is easily dulled by the gray tone of the metallic yarn.

In the same way, when making custom metallic colors based on silver,
it was difficult to reproduce clean yellow and vivid green tones.

“A Metallic Yarn That
Does Not Stain White”

( MASHIRO )

“Because silver stains white,
we have no choice but to use iridescent or transparent metallic yarn with white…”

We have listened carefully to these voices for a long time.
And that is how MASHIRO was born.

MASHIRO gently adds only a clear, white brilliance,
without harming the natural beauty of white.

With this, a new level of refined and elegant creations becomes possible.

MASHIRO ESTHER, MASHIRO eHAGOROMO, MASHIRO ZERO MANNA, and MASHIRO VEIL.

By expanding the choices for “white,”
the most frequently selected color,
our existing products become even easier to use.

MASHIRO: Resistant to
Dyeing and Processing

( MASHIRO )

MASHIRO film has excellent resistance to various dyeing processes.

After twisting, knitting, or weaving with other materials,
the yarn can still be dyed and processed in many ways.

For twisting and weaving applications, MASHIRO FILM is available in:

1/168 inch (0.15 mm width) with an elegant, soft luster
1/110 inch (0.23 mm width) with a sharp, bright white shine

We also offer types covered with woolly nylon
and types covered with recycled nylon.

MASHIRO can be used in a wide variety of designs and applications.

Eco-Friendly
HAGOROMO Metallic
Yarn

( eHAGOROMO )

HAGOROMO is a metallic yarn that can truly be called a standard.

It has a structure in which silver, gold, or colored metallic film
is covered with polyester filament,
making it a classic metallic yarn.

It offers a well-balanced shine that feels unmistakably “metallic,”
along with an affordable price range and a wide variety of colors.

Because of its high versatility,
it is used in many applications,
including flat knitting, socks, towels, and twisting yarns.

By replacing the polyester filament
with recycled polyester,
we created eHAGOROMO.

Because It Is a Standard
Yarn, Environmental
Care Matters

( eHAGOROMO )

A lineup of 93 colors.
Our goal is to make all of them recycled.

It may be difficult to achieve everything at once,
but step by step, we move toward a more sustainable world.

For the core yarn,
we use dope-dyed recycled polyester.

By using dope-dyed yarn,
the amount of water required for dyeing is reduced,
and CO₂ emissions are also lowered.

Toward a HAGOROMO with a lower environmental impact.
